FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from Sugar Plum Acres?

As you are directed onto the property, you will be shown where to park in the orchard. You do need to bring your own containers for picking and weighing. We do not weigh by the ounce, we weigh by the pound so we will estimate the weight of your container and subtract that form the final weight. After you are finished picking, you will get in line in your car to pay. Please bring water and be aware that sometimes the wait is lengthy if a large number are wanting to pay at the same time.

Can I bring my dog?

No. We ask that you do NOT bring your dogs. It is too hot to sit in the car and we cannot have them here due to liability. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you see a dog here it is one of the family animals that has to be allowed out periodically to potty.

Can I pick flowers?

Yes. We do have flower picking. Please stay to the designated areas so Sugar Plum doesn’t feel sad when people pick her special flowers. Please bring your own vases, containers, or jars to bring your flowers home in. We provide clippers to use while your here.

When are the tomatoes and peppers available?

Tomatoes and peppers should be available the second week of August. They are available to pick mainly on our peach days until late August when we will have tomato & flower only picking days. These are great days to bring the family and enjoy time on the farm. Please bring your own containers and wear clothing/shoes that are conducive to the farm environment.

Can I host photo shoots there?

No. We do not currently host photo shoots. You may take photos while you are here picking peaches, tomatoes, and flowers as long as you do not disturb the picking of other customers. Tag us online if you post them, we love to see how creative people are!! (If you would like to make them available for us to use, you can send them in messenger or stories.sugarplumacres@gmail.com. We will consider any sent photos as permission to use. Otherwise we will just oooh and ahhh )

Can I taste one?

While we do allow tasting, we do ask that you pay for the peaches, cherries, and tomatoes you pick. So out of consideration, please keep eating for unpaid for fruit to a minimum.

Can I team up with strangers I meet at the farm to get the bulk discount?

No. We have a bulk discount to help our canners to preserve the harvest and to preserve a way of life. Please do not take advantage of this by trying to add your order at the check with others and then taking up even more time to separate out each order. The discount is for single orders only. We appreciate your consideration in this matter.
